About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a US-Based Director of Sponsorship Sales to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be either located on, or able to work on Pacific State Time and will have a strong background in sponsorship sales and leading sales teams. The Director of Sponsorship Sales will be responsible for selling event sponsorships on behalf of our Fortune 500 client for their corporate flagship and touring events. This role will lead and manage a team of experienced sales professionals to achieve and exceed sales quotas across our clients account base. They will be responsible for developing and nurturing strategic relationships with client partner alliance teams to achieve long term, high value relationships. Maintaining an understanding of client and sponsor objectives and business needs, proactively identifying growth opportunities that lead to increased revenue and long-term sponsor retention. As well as interaction and management of the agency's client (Fortune 500 IT company), as a key person in their leadership team.

Responsibilities:

Sales Management

  • Management of sales progress, pipeline and forecasting
  • Provide a platform to objection handle and close opportunities
  • Contributing to executive reports with sales commentary, bright spots and gap analysis
  • Regular connection with Sales Operations Leader to provide insight and commentary, aligning with weekly ROB 'moments'
  • Sales strategy development (review TAM, previous year spends, and work with Sales Account Execs to understand strategic accounts), update annually
  • Regular review of teams' territories and targeting setting
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the client and sponsor relationships through analysis of client and sponsor feedback with an understanding of future client needs
  • Collaborate with Director, Sponsorship Experiences on inventory, sponsorship hand-off process, monitoring, and sponsorship feedback reports

Team Leadership

  • Lead and manage the sales team providing day to day guidance and support, sharing knowledge and experience to develop their skills
  • Development and running of sales team cadence; regularly 1:1’s and team meetings, regular connections with line managers and department heads within sponsorship team
  • Actively support the teams' sales pursuits by joining calls, contributing and reviewing custom pitches. Participate in pursuit process for all strategic accounts
  • Empower staff, coach and mentor them as appropriate
  • Oversee and manage the recruitment of new full-time hires and ensure successful onboarding to their role
  • Escalation management within client account leadership team
  • Collaborate in the development of processes across the Nteractive sponsorship teams to ensure best practices are shared
  • Regular review cycle with team members including goal setting, mid-year and end of year review
  • Embody and role model the Nteractive values at all times

Agency Client Management

  • Daily interaction with the agency's client (Fortune 500 company), acting as a key person in their sponsorship leadership team

Skills, experience and competencies:

  • Strong inter-personal skills to develop effective relationships with clients, suppliers and colleagues
  • Ability to lead, manage, mentor and develop others to develop their talents and skills
  • Highly motivated and passionate with a can-do approach to finding solutions and delivering customer service
  • Strong, persuasive communicator both written and verbally
  • Excellent customer service skills and client focus
  • Strong diplomacy and negotiating skills
  • Highly organised with good attention to detail
  • Ability to work at pace and under pressure

Experience:

  • 5+ years’ experience of working on sponsorship sales and leading sales teams
  • Proven project management skills working on various projects to deadlines and budget
  • Proven experience of providing excellent client service on projects
  • Proven Office 365 capability, advanced Excel proficiency and sound information and communication technology (ICT) skills

Other requirements:

  • Quiet home environment from which to work (although the successful candidate will be required to travel to aid team collaboration or meet client needs)
  • Liking for and ability to undertake international travel throughout the calendar
