Director of Strategic Sales

Our customer is the world’s largest and most trusted producer of Specific Pathogen Free (SPF) eggs and adjacent laboratory products and services for the development and manufacture of biologics. They are searching for a Director of Strategic Sales who will be responsible for establishing and implementing business development action plans as well as generating new business and maintaining existing accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and nurture relationships within targeted accounts.
  • Assess and analyse customer needs.
  • Showcase company capabilities through presentations, demonstrations, and relevant information.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing, sales, pricing, and distribution strategies.
  • Identify and capitalize on market opportunities; adjust strategies to reflect changing conditions.
  • Create and execute a sales strategy for the portfolio of services, targeting potential accounts with companies.
  • Engage in business development activities, including meeting with existing and potential customers, delivering capabilities presentations, participating in contract negotiations, and ensuring a thorough and timely customer process.
  • Identify and evaluate new product ideas and market opportunities; assess the impact on the market for current products and recommend economically attractive opportunities to senior management.
  • Assist with due diligence for potential new business opportunities as needed.
  • Support licensing efforts for products as required.
  • Develop strategies to penetrate new markets and expand existing ones.
  • Provide detailed monthly and quarterly progress reports to management, outlining strategies to achieve and exceed revenue goals.
  • Establish and maintain a distributor network for international sales.
  • Monitor the proposal process and additional offerings to customers; analyse key sales ratios (percent closed, percent lost, and reasons for lost sales). Identify roadblocks to successful closes and implement future strategies for success.
  • Achieve quarterly and annual sales targets.

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in Life Sciences, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of ten years of relevant industry experience, with at least eight years of client interface experience.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Knowledge of the poultry vaccine and diagnostic industry highly preferred.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful sales strategies, including market analysis, competitive analysis, and strategic planning.
