Director, Sales Engineering Leader - AMER

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Sales Engineering to lead our talented team in the Americas and play a pivotal role in our continued success. This role will report to the Head of Global Sales Engineering.

As a member of the Sales Engineering leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and executing a strategic vision for our sales engineering function across Airline IT portfolio within the Americas, ensuring alignment with overall sales goals and revenue targets.

You will be an integral member of our Sales & Accounts management team with the responsibility of building and developing a high-performing sales engineering team in the Americas, while collaborating with other team members globally to achieve goals and targets.

Acting as a change agent that fosters innovation, you will develop new strategic perspectives and bring out-of-the-box thinking to our pre-sale engagements.

Given the nature of the role, the ability to travel 50%+ time is required.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the sales engineering team in the Americas, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Talent Management: Develop and mentor top sales engineering talent, building a high-performing team, with focus on culture of knowledge sharing and teamwork

Customer Engagement: Serve as a trusted technical advisor during the sales cycle, working closely with key stakeholders to understand their needs and architect effective solutions.

Sales to Delivery Hand-off: Work with key stakeholders to ensure a successful transition from pre-sales to delivery, ensuring smooth kickoff of the implementation phase.

Product Alignment: Partner with product management to ensure sales engineers have a deep understanding of our offerings and can effectively communicate the value proposition to customers.

Metrics & Analysis: Track key sales engineering metrics, analyze data to identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to optimize performance within the Americas.

A Successful Candidate Will Have

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of progressively senior leadership.
  • Extensive understanding of the market landscape in Aviation, including knowledge of the competitive landscape in Airline IT, key trends, opportunities, and challenges of modern retailing.
  • Proven experience of pre-sale engagements at the C-level.
  • Passion and success managing, leading and growing a team.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams within a global matrix organization, with strong capabilities to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Professional presence and business acumen with articulate and persuasive oral and written communication skills.
  • Operates with extensive latitude and being resourceful to overcome challenges and to accomplish goals.
