TulsaConnect was formed in October 2001, but its roots go back to April 1996 with the founding of one of Oklahoma’s first Internet companies. We have since grown to the largest Oklahoma-owned provider of Data Center and MSP services in the state – providing Co-location, Private Cloud, and MSP services to businesses of all sizes and types across 3 enterprise-class Data Centers.

We are growing fast and are looking to expand our team of top sales professionals. While the below is a general job description, flexibility and adaptability are required.

​

Summary

​

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Act as the primary technical resource within the sales team.
  • Attend client and prospect meetings at TulsaConnect facilities and customer premises.
  • Provide technical insight on data center tours.
  • Conduct on-site technical evaluations for prospective projects alongside the sales team.
  • Lead the pre-sales documentation and assessment process, creating detailed documentation for the technical and sales teams.
  • Educate the sales team on finalized designs before client presentations.
  • Design and document Private Cloud infrastructures for prospective clients.
  • Identify appropriate Managed Service Provider (MSP) solutions for clients as requested by the sales team.
  • Assess software licensing requirements to ensure compliance with vendor agreements.
  • Collaborate with internal network teams on network circuit planning and design.
  • Facilitate the transition of solution designs to the technical team for implementation.
  • Provide occasional support to the technical team during installation and implementation phases.
  • Identify base costs for solutions and provide them to the sales team.
  • Stay updated on prevalent SaaS offerings and their integration into our service portfolio.
  • Plan and quote Access Control and CCTV systems.
  • Evaluate the technical aspects of potential new products.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local IT vendors and service providers.
  • Obtain necessary product certifications or licensing for our product range.

 

Notes:

  • This position is primarily in-office when not visiting customer locations.
  • This position typically requires 10-25% travel, mostly within Oklahoma.

Preferred Qualifications:

​

  • Background in IT, telecommunications, Managed Service Provider (MSP), or a related field, with a preference for experience in Commercial Data Center/Hosting and/or MSP environments.
  • Proven ability to design comprehensive IT solutions for clients.
  • Proficiency in virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V, VMWare, etc.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft technologies including RDS, O365/M365, Azure, etc.
  • Understanding of enterprise network design and technologies, including point-to-point network technologies, capacity planning, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware technology and deployment strategies.
  • Awareness of vendor licensing requirements.

  • A strong understanding of service-driven solutions that enhance cost-efficiency, agility, and reliability for IT stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of the IT Management business sector, industry trends, end-user challenges, and the competitive landscape.
  • A self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic and the ability to initiate tasks without direct supervision.
  • A collaborative team player.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Outstanding multitasking and organizational skills.
  • A commitment to delivering excellent service and achieving customer satisfaction.

Other Requirements:

 

  • Current Driver’s License
  • Access to reliable transportation.
  • The ability to clear a criminal background check and a drug test.

 

Education:

​

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or a minimum 2 years of technical sales experience, preferred.
