Transition Manager

The Transition Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing new client engagements including initial interactions with customers, translating a solutions project plan into an operational plan, onboarding new team members (internal and external) and managing customer communications and expectations during the transition period In this role, they will be responsible for the planning, coordinating, and executing transition processes to ensure smooth and efficient change with minimal disruption to operations.

The Transition Manager will manage internal and external resources to deploy and operationalize these new business processes. They will also be responsible for the Information Technology infrastructure required to smoothly assume the new service activities seamlessly. This position reports directly to the Global Delivery Lead for all accounts.

Responsibilities

  • The Transition Manager will work with the Senior Management team to establish the critical policies and procedures required to fully onboard a new program or project and ensure that all of them are applied to successfully launch a new program or project. Key processes managed by the Transition Manager will include:Coordinate major transition activities required to assume existing customer environment activities or launch new program activities including financial, technological, operational, and governance changes.
  • Analyze requests for changes to the proposed solution and consult with management to approve or deny proposed changes and assess the effect of such changes.
  • Develop comprehensive transition plans, including project expectations, scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
  • Conduct workshops to inform new members of expected functions and deliverables, major changes including financial, technical or process approach
  • Ensure transitions are planned and executed on time and within budget.
  • Keep all stakeholders updated on the progress of transitions.
  • Identify and resolve any transition-related issues swiftly.
  • Provide guidance during unplanned changes, assess risks and create a mitigation plan.

Performance Metrics

  • Like every senior manager in the Professional Services organization, the Transition Manager will be evaluated on the ability of the business unit to meet timelines of launching new programs and projects. Additionally, the Transition Manager will be evaluated on the following metrics:Project Onboarding Success
  • Customer Satisfaction during transition period
  • Ability to turn new programs to steady state timeline and accurately.
  • Ability to staff new programs timely with quality resources
  • Experience and Skill RequirementsB.S. or B.A. required. MBA preferred
  • 6+ years of professional experience
  • 3+ years working in the services/consulting industry
  • Strong project management skills and familiarity with transition documentation, tools, and templates.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong analytical, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively with different teams
  • Excellent managerial skills
  • Prior experience designing business processes
  • Prior experience managing transition for multiple projects/programs
  • Prior experience deploying professional service automation infrastructure
  • Preferred experience in transition management software, such as XenonRTM or Jira.
  • International experience a plus
