The Manufacturing Sales Director is responsible for leading and executing the sales strategy to support revenue growth, developing key customer relationships, and overseeing sales operations. This role requires a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, market trends, and business development strategies to expand the company's customer base and achieve sales targets.

Key Responsibilities

​

  • Sales Strategy & Execution  
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to drive revenue growth.  
  • Identify new business opportunities and expand market share in targeted industries.  
  • Establish sales goals, forecasts, and budgets in alignment with the company's objectives.  
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer demands to refine sales approaches.  
  • Business Development & Customer Acquisition  
  • Establish and nurture relationships with key clients, OEMs, and distributors.  
  • Lead negotiations for high-value contracts and strategic partnerships.  
  • Identify emerging markets and opportunities for diversification.  
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions.  
  • Team Leadership & Performance Management  
  • Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing sales team.  
  • Set clear performance metrics and KPIs for sales representatives.  
  • Conduct regular sales meetings, coaching, and performance evaluations.  
  • Foster a culture of accountability, motivation, and continuous improvement.  
  • Sales Operations & Reporting  
  • Monitor sales pipelines, conversion rates, and key performance metrics.  
  • Collaborate with marketing to align lead-generation strategies with sales efforts.  
  • Work closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment.  
  • Prepare and present detailed sales reports and revenue forecasts for senior management.  
  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM)  
  • Maintain and enhance relationships with existing customers to drive repeat business.  
  • Implement and optimize CRM tools to track sales activities and customer interactions.  
  • Address customer concerns to ensure high levels of satisfaction and retention.

Qualifications & Skills

​

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related field.  
  • Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years in industrial/manufacturing sales, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.  
  • Industry Knowledge: A strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including CNC machining, metal fabrication, and similar techniques.  
  • Sales Expertise: Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.  
  • Leadership & Team Management: Proven experience in leading and developing sales teams.  
  • Negotiation & Relationship Building: Strong ability to close deals and build long-term partnerships.  
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot), ERP systems, and data analysis tools.  
  • Communication & Presentation Skills: Ability to articulate value propositions and present solutions effectively.  
  • Problem-solving ability: Analytical mindset to overcome sales challenges and drive continuous improvement.

This is a remote position with 50% travel.

Salary Range - $120,000 to 140,000 annually
