The Presales engineer will support the sales teams and the reseller channel by providing product advice and training, advice on licensing and technical queries and talking to / visiting end-users of larger organizations in order to facilitate product sales. They are expected to be product experts with a strong knowledge in IT systems and the threat landscape. Their role is more encompassing than simply technical support and although not a sales person they will have a bearing on the sales into larger enterprise customers.

Role

β€’ Support the sales team in handling more technical enquiries from larger end-user customers

β€’ Discussing technical aspects of the products with end-users

β€’ Train resellers and ESET staff on products and their application

β€’ Be a central source of knowledge for the sales and marketing teams on all aspects of the product, its licensing and impact / integration in broader IT systems

β€’ Be an ESET evangelist both at end-user meetings and events

β€’ Keep up-to-date on industry knowledge and news on a technical basis

β€’ Assist and develop onsite or remote PoC’s, Demos and customer engagement.

β€’ Participate in sales strategy planning, customer design, technical evaluations and sales calls.

Activities

β€’ Provide technical sales advice to the internal and external sales teams on specific enquiries

β€’ Undertake product training sessions for ESET staff

β€’ Undertake product and technical training sessions for resellers and their staff (time required away)

β€’ Undertake web demonstrations to key customers and resellers

β€’ Undertake onsite demonstrations to prospective customers and resellers (time required away)

β€’ Attend exhibitions and conferences to provide technical product advice (time required away)

β€’ Prepare and undertake monthly product webinars to the reseller channel and end-users

β€’ Manage KPI’s and personal goals

Essential Skills

β€’ Previous experience providing technical support to both end-users and resellers

β€’ Experience with security software and their application within an IT environment

β€’ Able to present confidently to senior IT staff specializing in IT Security (CISO level)

β€’ Enterprise network knowledge

β€’ An understanding of encryption technologies

β€’ An understanding of server infrastructure and domain configuration

β€’ Understands (Intermediate admin) Operating system configuration (Windows, Mac, Linux).

β€’ Understands Virtual Machine usage

β€’ Able to evaluate an enterprise's security posture and provide expert recommendations for implementing effective security solutions

β€’ Proficiency in identifying, analyzing, and responding to security events and incidents, providing strategic guidance to ensure effective threat mitigation and comprehensive risk management.

β€’ Able to travel and stay away as and when required

β€’ Full valid driver’s license

Desirable Skills

β€’ Previous experience delivering training

β€’ Previous experience in presenting IT products

β€’ Project management experience

β€’ In-depth knowledge of the security software industry and ESET competitors

β€’ Complete ESET product knowledge

Education:

Bachelors IT degree or an equivalently qualification with relevant professional experience

​

​

Experience:

5+ years of experience in Presales activities

​

​

Communications:

Excellent writing and communication skills

Polite and helpful personality

Customer-oriented communication

​

Language:

Italian native speaker or C1

English B2 - Upper intermediate
