Introduction:
Our client, a leading SaaS provider, is looking for a talented and motivated pre-sales engineer to join their growing team. The pre-sales engineer plays a crucial role in the sales process, collaborating closely with the sales team to understand customer requirements and demonstrate how their products can meet those needs. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the product and technology and be able to articulate the benefits of the solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences. As a pre-sales engineer, you will serve as the technical expert for customers, providing product demonstrations, presentations, and support throughout the sales cycle.
For this role, the ideal candidate should have a strong blend of technical expertise, sales acumen, and industry knowledge, particularly in SaaS solutions for regulated industries like finance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strong Technical Knowledge of SaaS & Cloud Solutions
- Deep understanding of cloud-based platforms, including security, compliance, and scalability benefits.
- Experience with data capture, validation, governance, and archiving solutions is a plus.
- Experience in Pre-Sales & Solution Consulting
- Proven track record in pre-sales, supporting sales teams with product demonstrations, RFPs, and client engagements.
- Ability to bridge technical solutions with business needs.
- Understanding of Financial & Regulated Markets
- Knowledge of compliance requirements (e.g., SEC, FCA, MiFiD, DORA, ISO 27001, SOC 2, etc.).
- Excellent Communication & Presentation Skills
- Ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong storytelling and demo skills to showcase the value proposition of the product.
- Strong Client Engagement & Relationship Management
- Ability to build trust and long-term relationships with clients, acting as a strategic advisor.
- Proactive in maintaining ongoing communication, providing guidance, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the sales cycle and beyond.
- Experience working with enterprise clients, long sales cycles, and influencing key decision-makers.
- Experience with APIs, Data Integration, and Cloud Security
- Understanding of how SaaS platforms integrate with enterprise environments.
- Knowledge of API-based integrations and cloud security best practices.
- Ability to Manage Proof-of-Concepts (POCs)
- Experience in designing and leading POCs to demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of a solution.
- Ability to gather customer feedback and translate it into product improvements.
- Commercial Awareness & Sales Enablement
- Understanding of SaaS business models, pricing strategies, and sales processes.
- Ability to collaborate with sales, marketing, and product teams to drive revenue growth.
- Problem-Solving & Critical Thinking
- Ability to assess customer needs, identify potential blockers, and propose innovative solutions.
- Strong analytical skills for competitive differentiation.
- Willingness to Travel & Engage with Clients
