The Role
Vimaan is looking to bring on board an experienced Senior Sales Engineer at its San Jose, CA corporate headquarters. The candidate will play a key role in driving the adoption of our advanced AI and computer vision solutions within the logistics and supply chain sector. This role blends deep technical expertise in automation technologies with sales and solution engineering acumen to present complex, innovative solutions to potential customers. As a trusted advisor, you will work closely with clients to understand their needs, develop tailored solutions, and guide them through the sales process. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background, a passion for automation, and a thorough understanding of the logistics and supply chain industry.

Responsibilities
- Solution Development: Collaborate with customers to understand the problem statements in their specific operational environments and their objectives.
- Product Fit: Identify the appropriate product from our standardized portfolio that addresses the customer's needs while avoiding custom implementations that extend deployment timelines. Communicate the value of our product-led approach versus custom solutions. Identify if there is a fit with one of the Company’s products and whether that is the best approach to meeting the prospect’s goals.
- Technical Sales Support: Provide technical expertise throughout the sales process to the prospect, including product demonstrations, presentations, and feasibility and ROI studies. Translate technical capabilities into business outcomes (labor reduction, accuracy improvements, cycle time reduction, cost savings and avoidance) and frame it in the context of the client workflow. Serve as a trusted consultant to customers when identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
- Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at all levels of client organizations, including innovation leaders, logistics managers, IT professionals, and senior decision-makers.
- Upsell / Cross-sell: Working with existing customers, identify opportunities to expand our solutions across their network.
- Product Expertise: Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of our computer vision technology, standardized product portfolio, and integration requirements with warehouse management systems (WMS). Understand and help inform our product roadmap and communicate strategic priorities to prospects. Keep abreast of industry trends, customer pain points, and new developments in technology.
- Proposal Development: Collaborate with the product and sales teams to develop proposals based on our standardized product offerings, focusing on repeatable high-value use-cases. Create presentations that clearly articulate ROI, implementation timelines, system configurations and workflow integrations that align with client needs while setting appropriate expectations around product capabilities.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, engineering, and customer success teams to ensure proposed solutions stay within our standard product specifications while meeting client requirements. Provide market feedback to the product team to inform future product enhancements without creating one-off customizations.
- Sales Strategy: Support the sales and marketing team in developing and executing go-to-market strategies, leveraging your technical and sales expertise to close deals and drive revenue growth.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance product offerings, sales processes, and customer satisfaction based on feedback from clients and the market.
- Contract Renewals: Facilitate the process of contract renewals for existing customers.

Candidate Profile
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, Robotics, or related field). A Master’s degree is a significant plus.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in sales engineering, technical sales, or customer facing solution engineering, ideally within robotics, computer vision, automation, or a related technology field.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in the logistics, supply chain, or warehousing industry, with a solid understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in these sectors. Specific knowledge of inventory management workflows in key verticals such as e-commerce, high-value manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, or consumer goods and understanding of warehouse operations related to inbound receiving, outbound verification, and cycle counting processes is a plus.
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of automation technologies, including computer vision, robotics, AI, machine learning, and automation solutions. Experience with software integration, sensors, cameras, and other hardware components is highly desirable.
- Sales Skills: Proven track record in sales engineering or pre-sales roles, with the ability to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders, understand customer needs, and close complex technical sales deals. Ability to qualify opportunities, identify repeatable use cases, and articulate product value in terms of business outcomes rather than technical specifications. Experience transitioning customers from manual processes to automated solutions with demonstrable ROI.
- Self-Motivated: Manage your time and sales activity independently. We are looking for a sales professional that understands the work required to secure new business.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to a diverse audience, including engineers, operations managers, and senior executives.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly grasp customer challenges and develop innovative solutions.
- Travel: Willingness to travel to client sites as required.
- Ardent Customer Advocate: Capable of building a “consultative” relationship with customers and managing multiple stakeholders through a complex, long cycle technical sales process.
- Relationship Builder: Excellent track record with building and maintaining relationships with relevant influencers and decision makers of customer organizations.
- Multi-Tasker: Highly organized; capable of juggling multiple tasks and responsibilities concurrently.
- RTO: While Vimaan has flexible work hours and doesn’t mandate a 9-5 work schedule, it maintains a work from office policy to foster engagement and collaboration. Willingness to be in the office (San Jose, CA) 5 days a week whenever needed is a must.
