Solutions Architect Technical Lead

6-month contract with potential to extend/convert

100% Remote  

Optomi, in partnership with our top client in the IT Business consulting space, is seeking an experience Solutions Architect to join their team. The Technical Solutions Delivery Team is responsible for the complete delivery process of infrastructure solutions to our clients. Working closely with CIO teams, the Lead Engineer will be tasked with delivering an infrastructure solution that is robust, fault-tolerant, easy to maintain, and aligned with the business needs. This role involves a blend of skills such as infrastructure architecture, hands-on setup and configuration, software installation, and technical project management to ensure that all projects are delivered within their defined scope and timelines. The role requires extensive collaboration with developers, external vendors, database engineers, and other infrastructure teams to maintain the right balance of flexibility within a structured delivery framework. The ideal candidate should have a consultative mindset, strong leadership capabilities, forward-thinking skills, and the ability to work effectively across diverse technical and business groups.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-disciplinary teams in designing and deploying high-availability multi-tier applications on Windows or cloud environments.
  • Partner with both business and technical teams to create Infrastructure and Systems Engineering designs for in-house hosted solutions.
  • Design and implement contact center solutions with technologies such as Five9, Avaya, Genesys, or NICE, focusing on high availability, scalability, and integration with other business systems.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for contact center platforms.
  • Provide technical leadership on project assignments.
  • Document technical designs for project and operations teams as part of the delivery process.
  • Develop scripts and automation for repeatable processes.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in a consultative role, working with customers and stakeholders to analyze, specify, validate, and manage project requirements.
  • Strong background in enterprise-level infrastructure and systems engineering, particularly with Windows/SQL and cloud platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with contact center platforms such as Five9, Avaya, Genesys, or NICE, including configuration, customization, and integration.
  • Experience in automation or scripting, with a preference for PowerShell.
  • Familiarity with automated system build and configuration tools like VRO, Terraform, SCCM, SCO, etc.
  • Solid understanding of networking protocols and components.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing High Availability (HA), Active/Active, and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.
  • Proven experience working within a matrix environment that includes various infrastructure engineers, development teams, and client relationship teams.
  • Ability to quickly grasp new technologies and methodologies.
  • Skill in producing high-quality operational documentation, including Visio diagrams, environment overviews, and detailed configuration instructions.
  • Experience designing and implementing cloud contact center solutions and migrating from on-premises to cloud environments.
  • Strong customer service orientation, professionalism, and ability to handle complex designs and scenarios.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in remote work environments.
