Job Summary:

We are looking for a Solutions Database Engineer to join our strategic planning team and take charge of automating and scaling our processes for delivering customized educational products. This role is ideal for a big-picture thinker who can design and implement database solutions, streamline processes, and improve overall operational efficiency. You will collaborate across multiple departments to solve complex data challenges and guide the company’s future tech stack.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and automation of the process, which involves taking student data and automating the customization of books with personalized names and QR codes.
• Design and implement database solutions to automate the printing and warehouse fulfillment processes, potentially leveraging tools like NetSuite or creating custom solutions.
• Analyze the existing data processes and implement improvements to handle large-scale orders, such as statewide initiatives involving thousands of students.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, propose tech solutions, and automate workflows for customized book production and delivery.
• Provide thought leadership on the selection and implementation of tech stacks for the company's growing needs.
• Work closely with other teams to ensure efficient data integration between the company’s database systems and external platforms.
• Solve complex data challenges while proposing and implementing scalable solutions.

Must-Have Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Database Engineer or Solutions Engineer.
• Strong start-up experience, with a track record of building powerful, scalable solutions that impact the entire organization.
• Experience designing and developing database solutions for large, complex data sets, with the ability to articulate why you prefer one technology or methodology over another.
• Hands-on experience with front-end technologies, understanding UI flows and user experience, especially in customer-facing applications.
• Demonstrated success with video applications and platforms, including experience with video hosting and customization (e.g., Vimeo or similar).
• Experience with existing tech stacks (e.g., HubSpot, NetSuite) and a willingness to guide the company in selecting future tech stacks.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically about how to automate and improve processes.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

• Experience building video hosting platforms or solutions, including handling translation and multi-language capabilities (English and Spanish).
• Familiarity with warehouse fulfillment systems and logistics automation.
• Knowledge of educational or publishing industries, with experience in delivering personalized products at scale.
