About The Role

In the role of Solutions Engineer, you will work closely with the Inbound Sales team, Account Executives, and Area Sales Directors. You will collaborate with Partner Channels and Customers during pre-sales and proof of concept stages of the sales cycle. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in SaaS software platforms and will report to the Senior Director of Solutions Engineering. This role is open to candidates from anywhere in the United States, but working in Eastern Standard Time is required due to collaboration with colleagues from Europe.

Responsibilities

  • Becoming a subject matter expert on the technology involved.
  • Collaborating with the internal sales team following established Sales Process Playbook.
  • Uncovering customer challenges and documenting them in CRM systems (Salesforce).
  • Demonstrating an understanding of customer challenges by presenting contextual stories using the technology.
  • Accurately tracking proofs of concept to ensure expectations, success criteria, and timeframes are met.
  • Maintaining consistent, high-quality collaboration with other teams, including Marketing, Product, and Support.
  • Addressing customer questions across various subjects, including best practice recommendations, optimizations, and workflow efficiencies.
  • Analyzing customer usage of services and providing recommendations based on their needs, along with feedback to business and development teams.
  • Collaborating with Customer Success teams to ensure the best experience for customers as they transition from pre to post sales.
  • Occasional travel for industry events and team gatherings.

Your Skills Must-Haves

  • Technical Proficiency: A solid understanding of technical aspects to facilitate effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Communication Skills: Ability to present complex technical information clearly in person and online, adapting styles for different audiences, including creative, technical, and business stakeholders.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Capability to listen to and analyze customer requirements, identify challenges, and propose effective technical solutions.

  • Sales Acumen: Understanding of the sales process, including collaboration with sales teams, contributing to strategies, and effectively positioning technical solutions.

  • Customer-Focused Approach: A customer-centric mindset with strong active listening skills to address customer pain points and foster positive relationships.

Experience Must-Haves

  • At least 4 years of experience as a Pre-Sales Engineer, customer-facing technical support engineer, or in a similar position.
  • Understanding of storage technologies (NAS, SAN, Sync and Share).
  • Experience with macOS, Windows, and Linux OS.
  • Knowledge of command line, terminal, or PowerShell processes.
  • Experience in production, post-production, content creation, or video/audio/graphics workflows.

Your Skills Good to Haves

  • Knowledge and certification of cloud environments (e.g., AWS, GCP), networking, and storage.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
  • Knowledge of Architecture, Engineering, or Construction software tools and workflows.
  • MEDDPICC Sales Methodology.
