What You’ll Do

​

We’re looking for a Solutions Engineer to join the ArcBest Technologies team. The Solutions Engineer provides research, analytical guidance, and innovative solutions to support innovation initiative deployments. The Solutions Engineer learns customer needs, challenges, and requirements. This position acts as a trusted advisor, providing solution recommendations on how to utilize products based on analytical review. This position offers a high degree of responsibility and requires excellent problem solving, analytical skills, and communication skills.

Your Contribution May Include

​

• Engage in deep discussions with customers to understand their needs, challenges, and requirements.
• Effectively translate customer discussions into an understanding of their current state and future state processes.
• Based on customer requirements, design and propose customized solutions that address the customer's business challenges.
• Define data requirements and analyze and interpret data from a variety of sources.
• Develop analytical models, perform validation testing, and make recommendations based on model results.
• Develop pricing models for innovations and make pricing recommendations.
• Develop business cases and evaluate the ROI of innovation initiatives.
• Work as a bridge between the technical and sales teams, ensuring a smooth transfer of information and alignment of customer needs with the solution offering.
• Assist in the identification of proof of concept projects to launch the innovation effort.
• Develop and conduct product demonstrations and presentations to showcase the features, functionality, and value of the solutions to prospective customers.
• Develop Statements of Work that summarize identified solutions.
• Organize cross-functional projects and processes across departments and functions both within AB Tech and externally.
• Support post-sales process, including implementation team handover and KPI monitoring.
• Maintain a positive attitude while completing challenging work in a fast-paced environment.
• Work in a team setting to accomplish both departmental and individual goals.
• Create and continually refine processes and tools.
• Other duties and projects, as assigned.

As a Solutions Engineer, you will be a member of the ArcBest Technologies Innovation Management and Strategy team in Fort Smith, AR. Your hours will be Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with irregular hours that may occur depending on workload.

Education:

​

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field, preferred, required. Master's Degree, preferred.

​

Experience:

​

Minimum, two years’ experience in an analyst or engineering role.

​

Computer Skills:

​

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with a focus in Excel and PowerPoint, required. Knowledge of CAD and SQL, preferred.

​

Other Requirements:

​

Ability to learn new systems quickly. Ability to translate and communicate complex data easily.

​
