Job Description

Micas is seeking a Solutions Engineer to help with defining customer network requirements and network operating system requirements.. This role seeks a networking technical subject matter expert to work with customers to win new designs, address challenges and help to remove technical barriers. The role is focused on working on open networking based switching solutions and the support operating systems. A successful candidate will be a self-starter and have a strong results based track record.

Responsibilities

• Solutions Engineer will partner with the Micas Account Managers to understand customer needs and pain points, then conduct white board network architectural reviews in addition to conducting Micas product presentations of Micas’s network solutions.
• Solutions Engineer will architect, design and propose Micas network solutions to new and existing customers.
• Perform hands-on configuration and tests to validate customer proof-of-concept setups and network deployments using Micas products and features.
• Put together design guidelines and recommend improvements to customers with using the networks Micas’s products.
• Partner with Sales Team to respond to RFP/RFQs.
• Provide feedback to Product Management and Engineering.
• Represent Micas at networking industry events and conferences.
• Keep up-to-date on competitive solutions, products, and services.
• Author white papers and blog on Micas technology and product

Qualifications

​

​

• 4+ years experience in a technical role with customer-facing and ecosystem experience.
• BS: CS/CE technical degree required.
• Network Industry Certification preferred. (CCNA/CCNP/CCIE)
• A minimum of 5 years of L2/L3 networking design, or testing, or implementation experience with a focus on Data Center, Enterprise/Campus, and Wifi solutions.
• Demonstrated work experience as one of the following: Network Engineer, Network Test Engineer, Sales/Presales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Network Consulting Engineer.
• Preferred Expert knowledge in the following areas:
• Ethernet, RSTP/ MSTP, VLANs, IP Routing, TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, eBGP, VxLAN, Multicast, Spanning Tree, QoS
• Good understanding of the open networking technology landscape.
• Knowledge of competitive products, solutions, and services.
• Good communication skill set
• Ability to write white papers and technology blogs.
• Ability to understand and communicate customer needs.
• Micas operates a fast-paced environment, and the candidate needs to be collaborative, self-motivated and manage competing priorities
• Must be creative and interested in joining an adventure.
