The Solutions Engineer
​
The Solutions Engineer will work directly with Skillable’s sales team and prospective customers to design, implement, and present interactive demos of Skillable’s platform. Serve as a subject matter expert in Skillable’s technological features by helping customers understand technical aspects of the product and service offerings, ensuring Skillable’s value proposition and technology are seen as critical in the success of their business objectives. Use product expertise, keen business acumen and professional consultative communication techniques to deliver and translate technical concepts into everyday language in support of Skillable’s revenue and growth goals.

Responsibilities
​
- In partnership with Sales and Marketing leadership, develop customer facing assets to support the Solutions team efforts of exceeding Skillable’s revenue goals.
- Leverage business acumen specific to each prospective customer, present and articulate persuasive arguments highlighting different aspects of the products and services while describing the unique benefits of using Skillable’s products and services.
- Serve as the subject matter expert and consultative partner in preparing for and providing technical presentations to prospective clients explaining how Skillable’s platforms, products, and services work.
- Demonstrate technical expertise by answering questions on all Skillable products and explaining integration into the prospect’s existing ecosystem through both formal technical presentations and individualized touchpoints.
- Create and conduct sales presentations to match customer’s required capabilities and business outcomes in partnership with sales team members, ensuring Skillable’s product abilities are clearly highlighted and understood by all audiences.
- Develop clear and effective written proposals/RFP’s for current and prospective customers in partnership with applicable Revenue team members. Keep a repository of informational records for regular reference and future use.
- Regularly maintenance and updates of accurate sales data for reporting within the CRM.
- Use extensive technical knowledge to design platform solutions for customers specific concerns and needs to meet their business plans.
- Work closely with the Sales team during the pre-sale process to ensure customers clearly understand the technical aspects of Skillable products and services and how customers can utilize them to meet their business objectives.
- Assist in summarizing and providing leadership with quantifiable metrics and qualitative customer data to Revenue leadership.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the industry and competitive position of Skillable to confidently express the superior value of our product offering.
- Represent Skillable at industry events and conferences as required.
- Maintain customer intellectual property, confidentiality and security when working with Trials and POCs.
- Support and promote the company values through positive interactions with both internal and external partners and customers on a regular basis.
- Other strategic business initiatives or cross-functional project involvement as required.

Qualifications
​
- 6+ years of experience in Sales/Solutions Engineering, ideally in B2B SaaS companies within industries like EdTech or HR tech.
- Deep expertise in SaaS, with a strong understanding of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) technologies.
- 3+ years of experience collaborating with Enterprise-level Account Executives and sales teams, with a focus on driving complex sales cycles to close, especially within Fortune 500 companies.
- Proficient with cloud infrastructure, including Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Hands-on experience with hypervisors, including Hyper-V and VMware ESXi, as well as virtualization technologies.
- Demonstrated experience integrating SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS platforms with other services via APIs, LTI, SCORM, and SSO protocols.
- Strong coding or scripting skills, with proficiency in languages such as Python, PowerShell, or JavaScript, to support automating workflows and building technical integrations.
- Proven success in working closely with product teams to accurately represent technical capabilities and align solutions with customer needs.
- Exceptionally polished communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences, including executive stakeholders.
- Adept at controlling the conversation and applying engaging storytelling techniques, concise examples and articulating product value to fit a variety of professional meeting scenarios.
- Proven problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to assess technical challenges and design appropriate solutions.
- Experience working cross-functionally with product, sales, and customer success teams to drive customer engagement and satisfaction.
- Prior experience in lab virtualization or hands-on lab environments is a major plus.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Salary Range
​
The base salary for this position is $120,000 - $140,000 annually. This range does not include at plan potential for commissions and/or quarterly upsides for this position. This role is not eligible for Skillable’s corporate bonus plan. Consistent with applicable laws, compensation will be determined based on the candidate's level, relevant skills, qualifications, and experience along with requirements for the position and annual financial plans.

Skillable is a distributed first team with employees working across the U.S., and we do not consider geography when determining compensation ranges.
​
Please note that it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range. Skillable reserves the right to modify this compensation range at any time.

Working Conditions
​
The job conditions for this position are in a remote home office setting, requiring a space that supports privacy and focus to attend to regular and frequent video and voice calls. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Periodic travel may be required equaling up to approximately 10% of the time.
​
