Job Title: Vice President of Sales – Motion Control  

Location: Chicago, IL (with some travel required)  

We are looking for an accomplished and results-oriented Vice President of Sales to lead and grow our sales efforts in the Motion Control market. This is a pivotal role for a strategic leader with deep expertise in industrial automation, motion control technologies, and experience scaling sales teams. Based in Chicago, the VP of Sales will drive revenue growth, spearhead business development initiatives, and ensure the success of regional and national sales teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Leadership

  • Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to increase market share, grow revenue, and exceed business objectives in the motion control market.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a high-performing sales team, driving accountability and fostering a culture of success.
  • Manage key customer accounts, build long-term relationships, and identify new business opportunities.

Business Development

  • Identify and pursue new markets and opportunities to expand the company's presence in motion control and automation industries.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product management, and engineering teams to align sales strategies with product development and customer needs.
  • Lead efforts to capture new partnerships and distribution channels, securing contracts with key OEMs, integrators, and distributors.

Sales Execution

  • Drive sales pipeline growth and oversee sales forecasting, budgeting, and reporting to ensure performance targets are met.
  • Implement best practices in sales process management, including CRM usage, reporting, and analytics.
  • Develop and execute pricing, negotiation, and contract management strategies to maximize profitability.

Market Strategy & Analysis

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform product positioning and sales strategies.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to the executive team regarding market developments and growth opportunities.
  • Leverage market data to refine go-to-market strategies and optimize territory planning.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in sales leadership, with at least 5 years in the motion control or industrial automation sectors.
  • Proven track record of driving significant revenue growth and leading sales teams in a technical, B2B environment.
  • Deep understanding of motion control technologies, including servos, drives, motors, and automation systems.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
