JOB LOCATION: This is an on-site position located in Atlanta, GA

Job Purpose

Technology and program development leader responsible for designing and executing IT programs in support in Piedmonts Community Connect program. Primary responsibility and focus on new system implementations related to the Community Connect program. Lead all project management activities, providing subject matter expertise, oversight and leadership. Collaborate with Community Connect leadership and senior system executives on new program development related to Community Connect program expansions & optimization, as well as Piedmonts managed service offering to Piedmont Clinic membership. Assist with pro forma development, and manage the execution of these technology driven offerings.

Key Responsibilities

Ambulatory Community Connect Program Implementations:

Subject matter expert and operational leader within the Community Connect program, specifically responsible for all new system implementations at customers. Provide thought leadership, coordination, and guidance to influence strategies and overall strategic vision for the program, as well as optimizing implementation models. Serving as liaison between the clinicians, project governance, and executive sponsors. Participating in design and validation efforts, advisory council discussions and decisions, and escalate concerns to program leadership and governance, when needed. Particular focus on developing and executing a scalable model for implementing new affiliate physician practices on the Epic Connect platform. The Connect Implementation function should seek to create program efficiencies, encourage participating in related strategic programs at Piedmont, and in general increase clinical integration and physician alignment via the Epic platform.

Ancillary Service Offerings Planning & Execution

Work with Community Connect and Piedmont Clinic leadership to develop services that enhance the overall Community Connect offering, while also enhancing physician alignment within the Piedmont Clinic membership. Execute new implementations of the Epic-oriented, revenue generating ancillary services to ensure successful implementations. Provide thought leadership, coordination, and guidance to influence strategies and overall strategic vision for the program. Serving as liaisons between the clinicians, project governance, executive sponsors, and the project team during implementation.

  •  Partners with a broad range of physician practices to provide leadership, coordination, guidance, innovative ideas and influence to operationalize the strategies and strategic vision outlined for selling and implementing Epic for affiliated physicians.
  •  Serves as the onsite Connect program representative & relationship manager, responsible for building trusted relationships with practice administration and physician leaders. Once the implementation is complete, facilities transition of those trusted relationships to the appropriate support functions.
  •  Build, develop, and manage a high-performing project management function & team, using a structure that can effectively scale to meet growing business demands. Manage to optimize performance of staff, providing effective guidance and oversight to team members.
  •  Acts as an advocate and adviser to the independent ambulatory practices to ensure clinical functions (e.g. documentation, order entry, workflow, communication, scheduling of services), making significant contributions and providing leadership to highly visible management initiatives related to future state clinical system implementation for affiliated physician practices.
  •  Coordinates and champions multiple consecutive projects while acting as a subject matter expert to establish enterprise-wide policies and processes based on best practice.
  •  Assists in identifying & building consensus for affiliated physicians for implementation practices, utilization of best practices, work integration, issue resolution, metric development and measurement, and communication related to all aspects of ambulatory clinical, financial operations.
  •  Works with change management team to ensure all impacted parties have plan to move from current to future state.
  •  Acts as a communication liaison between varying constituents and interacts with internal and external customers in an extremely positive and professional manner.
  •  Improves system standardization while ensuring alignment and coordination with physician ultimately achieving Piedmont Healthcares quality and efficiency goals.
  •  Assists in the development of clinical policies, patient throughput optimization, key performance indicators (establishing & monitoring key performance metrics and appropriate short-term and long-term goals), and other collaborative tools to support physician practices in improving overall clinical and quality effectiveness and ensuring change management plans are in place.
  •  Participates in application level scoping specific to affiliated physicians to ensure configuration consistency across ambulatory applications.
  •  Work in a strategic capacity with leadership of the Piedmont Clinic to ensure various Clinic objectives and programs are effectively supported by Epic.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:

Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Business, Computer Science or a related field.

Minimum Experience Required

Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare IT/management/operations.

Minimum Licensure/Certification Required By Law

None.

Additional Qualifications

IT system implementation experiences, preferably EMR.

Strong clinical and operational expertise with an understanding of financial (both cost and revenue) implications.

Masters degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.

Previous experience with Epic Community Connect implementations, along with Epic certification in at least one physician practice related module is preferred.
