Presales Engineer
SUMMARY
OmniByte is looking for a Presales Engineer who will work alongside the Sales Team to understand business and technology objectives of prospects and customers, along with the current and future state of their organization, to provide a solution and demonstrate it where needed. Presales Engineers are especially important to support prospects and customers throughout the decision-making process. They are responsible for leading discovery engagements, understanding the business process and value drivers of prospects and customers, and translating this into customer-facing presentations throughout their buying journey.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Pre-Sales Support
- Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements and provide technical guidance.
- Participate in internal and customer/prospect facing product presentations and demonstrations.
- Support and build custom demonstrations aligned with customers’/prospect key business initiatives.
- Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to highlight the features, benefits, and value of OmniByte software solutions and services.
- Provide answers to technical questions in a Request for Information (RFI) or a Request for Proposal (RFP).
- Support OmniByte partners pre-sales engineering teams on as needed basis.
Technical Expertise
- Gain and maintain a high degree of knowledge on all OmniByte products and services.
- Address technical questions and concerns from prospects, ensuring a clear understanding of how our solutions address their challenges.
- Support the technical transfer of education from presales to implementation and support.
Customer Engagement
- Facilitate and document prospect and customer discovery sessions to uncover business processes and requirements.
- Translate technical and business requirements into a customer-focused solution.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with prospects.
- Conduct needs assessments and gather feedback to tailor solutions to specific customer requirements.
- Support proof-of-concept (POC) and trial engagements to demonstrate the effectiveness of our solutions.
Sales & Marketing Enablement
- Support with technical qualification of sales opportunities.
- Create and maintain pre-sales materials, including presentations, product demos, and technical collateral.
- Stay updated on industry trends and competitive landscape to effectively position our products.
- Support marketing enablement with technical demonstrations and presentations as needed.
Teamwork
- Work closely with the consulting and product management teams to stay informed about new features, product updates, and industry trends.
- Collaborate with the consulting implementation team to ensure a smooth transition from pre-sales to post-sales support.
- Provide insights and feedback from prospects to help shape product development and marketing strategies.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of experience in pre-sales, technical sales, consulting, or related role within the software industry.
- Strong understanding of software development, architecture, and integration.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to deliver compelling product demonstrations and presentations to diverse audiences.
- Strong project management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address customer needs and propose effective solutions.
- Collaborative and adaptable, with a strong ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- A willingness to travel is needed to meet with customers and attend industry events.
WORK CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Working conditions are normal for a business office environment. Work may require occasional weekend, early morning, and/or evening work.
- Travel to company, customer, partner and vendor sites, including some which are out of U.S., up to 25% of time, may be required.
- Employees may experience the following physical demands for extended periods of time:
- Sitting, standing and walking (95-100%) Keyboarding (40-60%)
- Viewing computer monitor and video calls, requiring close vision (50-70%)
