The Zillow Group Privacy Team is critical in offering comprehensive consultation and guidance to all Zillow Group business divisions, ensuring adherence to state, federal, and local privacy laws and industry standard methodologies. As a growing compliance group, we are committed to excellence in our services. Our team collaborates closely with various departments, including Product Development, IT and Security, Government Relations, and Marketing, to identify and incorporate privacy compliance requirements for new products and features. About The Role

We seek a highly motivated and responsible individual to join our Privacy Team as a Privacy Implementation Manager. In this critical role, you will supervise the development of our privacy technology compliance across all of Zillow’s operations to ensure that our platform aligns with privacy regulations and rules for safeguarding personal data. You will be able to align our product with our privacy practices and Zillow's core values.

Collaboration with technology-focused business leaders and key partners will be a primary aspect of your responsibilities as you guide the adjustment of our systems to implement privacy policies and drive compliance efforts across the organization. Your expertise in analyzing, crafting, and creating technology controls will be crucial in mitigating privacy risks. You must have an understanding of technology design and systems architecture. You will also support privacy assessments and documentation requirements and lead data privacy and protection analysis for Privacy Compliance.

Working closely with partners, you will guide the development of innovative Zillow products and features while conducting regular privacy impact assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks. Strong proficiency in privacy driven technology control development, outstanding communication skills, and an in-depth understanding of privacy principles will be critical for success in this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibilities include developing and implementing compliance technology solutions to ensure the correct implementation of privacy policies, advance legal and compliance objectives, and support the business use of data. 
  • Accountable for overseeing the overall direction, coordination, and execution of projects, ensuring their successful completion, and managing dependencies. 
  • Align Privacy by Design principles from early development stages, ensuring regulatory compliance and privacy requirements are met. 
  • Collaborate with data product development teams to create new data uses with privacy features. 
  • Interact with internal privacy program managers, product development teams, engineering resources, legal, compliance, governance, and data protection teams. 
  • Analyze, design, and program control enhancements to mitigate privacy vulnerabilities and prevent potential risks. 
  • Assist with data privacy management, protection, usability, performance, and integrity of privacy solutions. 
  • Collaborate with users to gather system requirements and modifications. 
  • Work with developers and architects on big data solutions while protecting data assets. 
  • Collaborate with usability teams to ensure user-facing privacy controls are usable. 
  • Review business processes to ensure the standard methodologies are followed around the handling and use of personal information
  • Guide the development of new privacy products and features. 
  • Identify areas of improvement in leading data privacy practices. 
  • Conduct regular privacy assessments, identify and mitigate risks, and provide guidance and training.

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.

In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $117,800.00 - $188,200.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC and may not be applicable to other locations.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

Who you are

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, privacy engineering, or related field. 
  • CIPT (Certified Information Privacy Technologist) required and CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) preferred. 
  • Strong software development skills. 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. 
  • 5+ years experience in privacy/data protection or a graduate degree/concentration in privacy engineering.
