About the role
As we continue to expand, this newly established role plays a pivotal role in advancing our strategic growth initiatives. Reporting to the SVP, Head of Commercial Operations, USA, you will drive growth strategies and P&L for general medicine and specialty care for US marketplace. You will be involved in all aspects of our business such as Sales Operations, Marketing, Advertising and working with cross functional teams while fostering stakeholder relationships.
This role is fully remote but requires travel for customer meetings, industry events, and occasional visits to our home office.
Commercial Strategy & Business Development
- To assist SVP, Head of Commercial Operations, USA in managing the branded generic business for Novugen USA and future affiliates.
- Develop and execute innovative sales initiatives that align with the overall budget goals and business strategy; increase market penetration and consolidate market positioning.
- Drive company throughput and margin goals via annual sales forecast, existing & new product lifecycle management, market trend analysis, pricing structure & strategies, ASP monitoring, etc.
- Lead contract negotiations, effective terms and drive growth while ensuring compliance and fostering long-term customer relationships as well as business development.
- Overseeing the Request for Proposal (RFP) and quotation process and sending approved bid proposals to customers.
- To continuously monitor the performance of distributors to the satisfaction of the customers. If necessary, recommendation through the management is made.
- Track monthly, quarterly and annual business performance, providing insights through commercial reporting, including sales performance, revenue forecasting, and financial planning.
- Curate and organize sales presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- To ensure no major violation to local legislation, business & industrial laws, Pharmacovigilance & Medical Affairs Functions.
Key Account & Stakeholder Engagement
- Oversee national accounts to ensure compliance and revenue objectives, sustain sales growth, execute product launches, and establish new client relationships while maintaining contractual obligations and customer satisfaction.
- Effective communication with customers concerning product availability, competitive intelligence, product launches, demand forecasts, and supply requirements.
- To work closely across multiple stakeholder groups to ensure timely delivery of milestones and activities. Work with key external experts who can provide robust external perspective and assist in cascading brand information.
- To evaluate sales opportunities and maximizing productivity by increasing level of endorsement and recommendation by the medical and pharmacy professions for Novugen range of products.
- Regular communication with the SCM Planning Team to address supply constraints and optimize shipment schedules, ensuring consistent service levels are maintained and improved.
- Represent the organization in the business community and public through involvement in professional organisations, networking etc.
Team Management and Development
- Develop an innovative & strategic team through hiring, coaching, monitoring and development of training plans for team members.
- Focus on the development of Sales & Marketing Effectiveness for Novugen USA Sales & Marketing growing workforce.
- Drive change management through the Marketing and Sales division by developing a performance driven culture. Champion and be a role model of the Company’s values and perform work in alignment with the Code of Conduct.
- Develop an effective sales and reward model to motivate and retain good team members.
- Conduct and document regular performance reviews and an annual review as well as regular personal/ career development discussions with direct reports, in line with agreed Performance Management processes.
About you
- Must possess a degree in the field of Business / Marketing/ Customer Service/ Supply Chain Management or any science discipline. An MBA would be considered a vital asset.
- Minimum 10 - 15 years of working in a mix of Sales & Marketing roles within a pharmaceutical and/or health care industry environment with full P&L responsibility.
- At least 7-10 years in a managerial role, with 3-5 years in a strategic role overseeing USA region. Managing multiple countries is an added advantage.
- Government tender/bid management experience is an added advantage.
- Sound know-how of GPO, wholesaler and retail pharmaceutical markets with proven track record of sales effectiveness.
- Customer Service / Supply Chain/ Order-to-Cash Management experience is an added advantage.
- Track record of experience in strategizing and implementing new product launches based on smart tactical approach coupled with strong personal relationships and market knowledge.
- Extensive relationship with regulatory authorities (FDA, CDC, NIH); industry/professional bodies (PhRMA, AACP, ISPE) and KOL fraternity (AMA ASCO, AHA, IDSA) in USA.
- High comfort level of working with a multi-cultural management team, understanding different dynamics, including shareholder’s interest, organizational objectives, and commitment to society.
- Proficient in using Sales CRM systems and tools such as SalesForce.com, Veeva, IQVIA, PowerBI, Tableu or equivalent.
- Fully remote, while maintaining a travel agenda of 10-20% travel to Novugen USA office and 80% on field to customer meetings, industry events, etc.
