Position Overview:

As the VP of Sales, you will lead the national sales strategy for a leading company in the Architectural Lighting industry. Your primary responsibility is to drive top-line growth, expand the company’s market share, and build long-term relationships with key clients, architects, designers, and specifiers. The role requires a seasoned leader who has a deep understanding of the architectural lighting space, proven leadership capabilities, and a track record of sales success in a competitive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy & Execution:

Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to drive revenue growth and achieve company targets. Identify opportunities for market expansion and increase penetration in key verticals.

Team Leadership:

Lead, mentor, and develop the national sales team, fostering a high-performance culture focused on meeting sales quotas and customer satisfaction. Provide ongoing training and development to ensure the team stays ahead in product knowledge and industry trends.

Client Relationship Management:

Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including architects, lighting designers, specifiers, and end customers. Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their needs and offering customized solutions.

Market Expansion:

Identify new business opportunities and expand the company’s footprint across the USA by targeting untapped regions or industry sectors. Drive the development of partnerships with distributors and other industry players.

Collaboration with Marketing & Product:

Work closely with the marketing team to align on go-to-market strategies, product launches, and customer education initiatives. Collaborate with the product development team to offer feedback based on customer needs and market trends.

Sales Forecasting & Reporting:

Establish metrics and KPIs to measure sales performance, and provide regular updates to the executive leadership team on sales results, forecasts, and strategic initiatives. Analyze sales data to make data-driven decisions.

Qualifications:

Experience:

10+ years of experience in sales leadership roles, with a strong background in architectural lighting or a related industry (building materials, design, etc.). Proven ability to scale sales teams and achieve aggressive revenue targets.

Leadership:

Demonstrated experience in managing and motivating a high-performing sales team, with a focus on coaching, performance management, and team development.

Industry Expertise:

Deep knowledge of architectural lighting products, trends, and the competitive landscape. Established relationships within the industry are a plus.

Analytical & Strategic Thinking:

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and develop actionable sales strategies. A track record of making data-driven decisions to grow revenue.

Communication Skills:

Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.

Travel:

Willingness to travel frequently (50%+), attending client meetings, trade shows, and conferences.
